Meet Louis/ aka Louie, a handsome 62 lb. 5 yr old male chocolate Labrador retriever.  He came to us as a stray, emaciated, with nervous energy, and poor social skills with other dogs when put into our kennel area. We then moved him into a foster home and immediately his social skills with other dogs were excellent.  With some TLC, a good diet and physical & mental exercise daily he has flourished into a handsome, obedient and loving dog.  Louie is a sporty boy who can fetch, sit, drop and comes when called; the perfect outgoing companion for an active person/family.  “He is an active and incredibly smart boy who likes nothing more than to run and fetch a ball; if you can toss a ball you'll have a friend for life."  This big boy is excellent on lead and would make a good walking/running companion; even jogging along side of you while bike riding. He is also great with other dogs, so would be a joy to take to the beach or dog park and he just loves riding in the car. Louie has learned to respect the different personalities of cats, is crate trained and house broken with supervision.  Louie knows all commands by voice & hand signals; see him in action in his video.  He bonds incredibly strongly with his "special person" and stays by your side.  He is very eager to please his owner and enjoys belly rubs and back scratches. Louie would flourish best in a home with a firm but loving pack leader, and someone that would guarantee lots of physical and mental exercise.  He'd suit an active person/family with older children who wants an outgoing and friendly companion.
